This paper examines the adaptation of management competencies among Ukrainian-origin banking leaders migrating to the United States. A comparative analysis of the banking systems of Ukraine and the USA is conducted across key parameters, including the regulatory environment, institutional structure, corporate governance standards, and competency requirements for middle and senior management. Structural differences are identified between Ukraine's two-tier banking system regulated by the National Bank of Ukraine and the multi-level federal-state regulatory model of the USA, which includes the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and state regulators. Key competency gaps faced by Ukrainian banking professionals integrating into the American banking sector are highlighted, particularly in compliance culture, risk management standards, digital transformation approaches, and customer-oriented service models. A comprehensive model for adapting management competencies is proposed, including diagnostic, transformational, and integration stages. Practical recommendations are provided for requalification and professional development programs for migrant banking leaders. The findings are relevant for the development of government and corporate initiatives aimed at integrating highly qualified financial professionals displaced by the armed conflict in Ukraine.
