У статті досліджено розвиток туристичної політики Європейського Союзу. Встановлено, що ЄС має повноваження підтримувати, координувати та доповнювати дії держав-членів в туристичний сфері. Визначено, що через недостатню компетенцію в ЄС немає органу, який би безпосередньо займався питаннями розвитку туризму в державах-членах, але деякі питання, пов’язані з туризмом, знаходяться в компетенції інституцій. Запропоновано для більш ефективного досягнення цілей ЄС в галузі туризму запровадити спільну туристичну політику та створити орган, який би відповідав за туристичний сектор.
