У статті досліджено проблему захисту культурних цінностей під час збройного конфлікту, зокрема в умовах агресії проти України. Проаналізовано застосування норм національного та міжнародного кримінального права до випадків пошкодження або знищення об’єктів культурної спадщини, здійснено класифікацію таких злочинних дій проти культурних об'єктів. Розглянуто практику іноземних країн (Малі, Югославія, Сирія). Запропоновано визначити перелік культурних об’єктів, що перебувають у небезпеці, вдосконалити кримінальне законодавство України стосовно кваліфікації злочинів проти культурних цінностей та активніше залучати міжнародні організації до фіксації правопорушень.
