У статті проаналізовано розвиток нормативно-правового регулювання спеціальної конфіскації в Україні на сучасному етапі – тобто із моменту набуття Україною незалежності. Виокремлено три основних періоди розвитку норм про здійснення зазначеного заходу кримінально-правового характеру, охарактеризовано основні риси кожного періоду. Проаналізовано основні проблеми, пов’язані із нормативно-правовим регулюванням спеціальної конфіскації протягом кожного із періодів. Описано окремі непослідовні законодавчі кроки у контексті спеціальної конфіскації. Зроблено релевантні висновки.
